First I have heard of that Chrissie. Would not have made any difference, she is a big name, for other reasons. It was Swanston Street she lived. I have it straight from her herself in a short letter from her. Lived about 100 yards or so from myself. Her granny lived above the Whitehorse Pub. Jamsey..I was not suggesting that being an 'Gay Icon' is a 'Bad' thing ..a couple of.the gay guys I worked with in the hospital made good reliable friends..... If I remember correctly, you are the one with the hang up about homosexuals......

Where did hear that Lorraine lived in the Mile-End part of Bridgeton Chrissie? Definitely Swanston Street.

Book should be out within next few months. I am meeting the publisher again next Friday, so things are moving again, AND I have retyped about half of the words (11,000-12,000) I recently lost, getting there.

Hi JB, I hope you`ve kept a few copies of the book. Back up on discs & e-mail the book to yourself too, that way you`ll have a cyber copy too. E-mail a few copies to friends too.

Aw Webman I will sweeten you up by telling you that I have just reentered (lost the original disc) your VERY OWN contribution to you know what, and its a lukkin good, used most of it. Say, is the City Bakers you refer to the one that used to be next to the Regent Pub round from Kerr Street.? I went there with ma wee Mammy too on as Saturday, but in the mornin, no the afternoon. (the bakery, no the pub)

Hi Jamesy, I was lucky enough to pick up a signed copy of your book when I was back in EK last year and enjoyed it immensely. However, I asked my old pal Bob Currie to take you to task on a slight technicality if he bumped into you. Page 50 re. City Bakeries' cream cookies. The cream was INSIDE them, not spread over the top. It was some type of white sugary dusting that was over the top.`I should know, I've eaten hundreds of them. Please try and correct this in your new book for the historical record. Och, no, don't worry as its only us gourmets that would quibble over such a triviality.
