POSTED by JAMESYBOY
I received favourable (about 80% certain I would say) news from a prospective publisher today about a second edition of my book. I plan only to make a few , minor additions to my own narrative, a couple of corrections too. However, I plan to expand the reminiscence section at the back of the book by about TWENTY people. So, now that this publisher has asked me to produce the changes for inspection, the search for contributors starts NOW. There are at LEAST SIX regular ex Brigtonians on this website that I feel would make an invaluable contribution to 'Last Exit....' I know who you are, you will know who you are, so please get in touch and your name will go into Brigton history, forever. And, Mr Webmaister. if all this comes off. as it surely will, your wee website is going to get a super, duper write -up in the ackowledgements. All other ex Brigtonians, and present day ones as well are welcome too. LUV to hear from you, otherwise I'll a come looking for YOU! Ha! Ha!

In spite of all my hard work its taking me a bit longer than expected to gather the 20 contributions I need for my planned second edition and the prospective publisher takes ages to get back to me at times (hope he disnae read this). Anyway, it will be the end of the year at the earliest I think before anything comes out but although its been slow, I am more than half way there with my collection of contributions. So, to all those Glesca Pals who have contributed so far I would like to thank you and, if anyone else from this Board still wishes to contribute, there are plenty 'vacancies' left. So, get memorising!
Second Edition now 95% certain. 'Got the call' to arrange a meeting with the prospective publisher in the next few weeks, might have it out by Christamas. Any more contributions?
EVENTUALLY, meeting the publisher for the proposed second edition (Friday). Yer site's big 'write up' is a step nearer Wull. Thank you to those of you from Glesca Pals who contributed to the updated reminiscence section. I will be typing your memories up soon.
I met the publisher this morning and I was given the good news that he will be accepting my book for a second edition and he is even interested in the project I am doing on my school for a possible future publication. So, it all went even better than I had hoped for. 'Last Exit............' should be out sometime in the first half of 2005. Get yir oarders in noo ha! ha! Its the ONE bit of good news, good fortune I have had in what has been an AWFUL year for me, so perhaps things are on the up as they say.

Webmaister, I entered your reminiscence contribution onto the Disk today for my second edition. I will get round to Anna B's one of these days soon. I am going to use you introduction, describing how you were surprised by the way so many people joined the Website, more than you had expected originally for the start of my mention of your Website when I get around to constructing an updated introduction. I am trying to get hold of some famous Brigtonian for an updated preface.

Jamesy Lorraine Kelly was born on November 30, 1959... Brought up in the Gorbals then Bridgeton, around Orr Street/ Cubie Street. The family were relocated to East Kilbride when she was 14. .She went to John St Secondary School in Bridgeton, Glasgow and Claremont High School in East Kilbride. I think Wull have some information on Lorraine Kelly on Glesca Pals.............
Jamesy did you know Lorraine has been hailed as a Gay Icon!

First I have heard of that Chrissie. Would not have made any difference, she is a big name, for other reasons. It was Swanston Street she lived. I have it straight from her herself in a short letter from her. Lived about 100 yards or so from myself. Her granny lived above the Whitehorse Pub.
