Looks like my book will not now be out until after Christamas and New Year. Met publisher today and the 'launch' is planned for January-February. Might be a few complimentary copies but not very many I think.

Hi JB, Have you "advertised" for the owner of the photo to acknowledge themselves so you could comply with the copyrights issues?
Start a thread with a copy of the photo asking who`s it is & see if you get a response.
As for the complimentary copies......hope you send one to the Webmaister.

Hello SBL, I have not had the time to see who the original copyright belongs to.
On Complimentary copies. Hey, the Webman has two copies at least of first edition Ha! He is on my list for a complimentary copy though. Then there is Lorraine Kelly, Willie Miller and the singer Frankie Miller. After that, I doubt if there will be much, if any more.

To those of you who have ordered the second edition of my book I can only apologise for the extended delay but its really out of my hands. I last heard from the publisher almost four weeks ago telling me it was almost finished, since then nothing. I will be contacting him in the next few days if I hear nothing over weekend. So, bear with me Peter, Handsome, Mamabear et al. We will get there in the end, hopefully.

Hi James, I will take one of your books, it may well become a collectors item , if you have used a photo belonging to the Evening Times or have I misread the post. I am sure you were warned by several folk that you cant do such a thing. Whats it worth not to tell them ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Bye for now, Norrie

Right Norrie, I will add you to list. Thank you.
I am careful with copyright. In the first edition I went through all the proper channels. The photo in question does not state that it it bears the copyright of the Evening Times. If it had, Jamesy would not have used it.

Hello Chas, 'scary' story that. I find it to be a case of trial and error this copyright thing. You learn as you go along, just like life generally.
Norrie, Well if it's Findlay, I will ask him for a few songs first.

Hello Jamesy Im quite new to the board and post every now and again. Im interested in how you went about getting a publisher and what sort of format you did your writing. I have wrote a book but only on the computer and dont know what I should do next or if anyone would be interested in my life in Glasgow and now in the usa. How would you begin I started just a fun and a keepsake for my grandchildren when I have them and I dont know what to do now. sorry to bother you but really interested. thanks

Further delay with my book.
There is a problem with the number of pages making the unit cost too high says my publisher so reluctantly (very) it looks as though I am going to have to shorten it a bit. May have to take at least some of the original thirty Reminiscence contributions out, but don't worry, those of you who have contributed to the second edition, you will be included.
Latest estimation of release date now end of April at the earliest. Will keep you posted those of you have preordered.
