Hi
I just finished reading John's book. and I really enjoyed it. I had looked for it in a couple of book stores in Glagow, but couldn't find it. Just before I went through to the departure lounge, I found it prominently displayed at the front door of Smith's & bought it then, as I said great reading. Another I picked up, was called looking for Peggy, written by Meg Henderson, about growing up in Blackhill another excellent book.

For some reason, I cannot reply to your post on the other thread.
Well spotted Chrissie, seriously. I was not aware the E mail address was on the site (John McBarron's) but whereaboots?

POSTED BY JOHN ( author)
I checked through my emails from PayPal and have no trace of the order being advised, which confirms my own system, which has no record of it having been processed. However, I also checked my PayPal transactions and found it to be listed as Kathy said, dated 25/5/5. I can only surmise, Webmaister, that I accidentally deleted it in the course of clearing out a lot of spam around that period. Do convey my sincere apology to Kathy and advise her that the book will be delivered by hand tomorrow, Wednesday.
Warm regards John

The trouble is with this book is that Ah canny pit it doon, it's great.
I started reading it on my travels back to Cambridge after the Swally do so the train journey from Central Station to Prestwick airport went in really quick.
I had to wait 2 hours for my flight from Prestwick and went into the lounge wie a glass of wine and continued my read. The trouble wis, Ah wis so wrapped up in the book that Ah never heard the flight being called and Ah ended up runnin tae get oan the plane.
Ah don't think Ah heard the plane taking off when Ah went back tae ma reading.
Ah hid tae catch a train fae Stansted tae Cambridge where my son was picking me up and again picked up the book and read.
What a journey, no matter where Ah wis, Central Station, Prestwick, Stansted, my heed wis up the closes in the East End of Glesca and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks John for making my journey more bearable and I'm going to order a copy of the book for my mum, she canny wait tae read it. Thanks again for a wonderful gift. Lizzy
