HI All, i am sending this from Coronado California in regards to Ay B,lang Tae Glasgow , it is a wonderful book and would ask all who like to read to order this book ,it is so well written you feel as if it was you going through all that happened in his life. I was just wishing it would have gone on and let us know how the rest of his life progressed so i hope he writes another book as a continuation of this one ,i do not know the writer so i am just giving my oppinion on it but it will be money well spent. All The Best to my Glesca Pals /////////// webmaister : thanks Josie for your thoughts oan the book, ahm still reading it and thoroughly enjoying it!

I have just finished reading Ah belong tae Glasgow, it brought back memories of Sacred Heart school and Pirn st. I am two years younger than the author and was in school at the same time.He mentioned the youth club where he would buy candy at playtime,is that the league hall as i knew it?he also mentions Mary street in Brigton, would that be Queen Mary st? As i read the book i could visulise in my minds eye all the streets, and the picture halls the Plaza, the Strathies, the wee Royal, and the Kings where i spent many happy hours.Thank you for taking me down memory lane.

Met the author John McBarron this afternoon. His book is selling brilliantly and the first press is nearly sold out!! he is delighted. A second batch will be coming from the printers and John is talking about a follow-up book. ;D He has been very honest with me, I cant' praise him enough... and he has seen me alright for the webpage www.Glesca.ukpals.com/Pals/ahbelang.htm Sales of his book & for advertising. He is looking for agents to sell his book in USA Canada New Zealand Australia If you know of anyone who could get involved in this please let me know.

Just started reading this book today while invigilating at an exam. Canny beat that eh? Reading a good book and getting paid for it. Does anyone know John McBarron's E mail contact? I had it on my list and seem to have lost it. The book is so wonderfully evocative of Bridgeton before my time and its interesting to compare period detail, living conditions etc with my own recollection in 'Last Exit.....' I have read 70 pages already and, if I don't have any papers to grade at the afternoon sesion I will be straight back into it. Engrossing stuff. If YOU read this Wull could you perhaps give me John'e 'E?' Ta!

Just finished reading AH belang tae Glasgow couldn't put it down. Took me back to my childhood days. playing mooshi.marbles.street fitba.tig.hide and seek etc etc. This book draws you back in time to an era of a Glesca although poor in health and money but very rich in community spirit.

Huddy, Its a good read. John lived about five minutes walk from me in Bridgeton but he writes of the area as it was about twenty years before my time.

Well John is about twent years 'on' from me but there would have been significant changes in the area from the time he was writing about it and when I was writing about it.

AllyB maybe the email address has changed - if you wish I can give you the authors current email address I first met John McBarron in May 2004 and he is a lovely man. A very honest man he still to this day keeps in touch and every year he sends me a wee donation towards GlesgaPals and a thank you for supporting his book. I think John will be 80 yrs old next year and he hopes to have his second book published in 2008. Ah Belang to Glasgow .... www.Glesca.ukpals.com/Pals/ahbelang.htm
