I have switched publishers. Things should be moving a bit faster, so look out for an announcement pretty soon.

Book is now in its final stages, my new publisher has only the photographs to include. I have a note of most of the Orders from GP's, for instance Peter, Handsome, and I think Norrie too but could any of you who have not been in contact for a while and who have reserved a copy perhaps remind me.

Jamesy
I'd like one too, please, for my mum. Any idea when it will be published? Maybe I could get it when I'm back.

Good idea Norrie but I don't think many of those who have ordered will be at the swally. Wait till the book comes out then we can make arrangements for payment etc, this time it will have to be done through my publisher.

I may deliver it personally, if you give me your address nearer the time. I did that with the first edition where it was possible.

Reminds me of a 1966 song Alice Ha!
My planned next book (though I may change my mind and do something else) is a (mainly) oral history of the 'Big Flit' to the housing Schemes, from thje late 1940s through the early 60s.

Hi James, will that be from all areas of Glasgow? I reckon that you will have plenty Pals that will relate their experiences moving to the "Schemes" Bye for now, Norrie

Hope so Norrie. Yes, most areas anyway, but perhaps in particular the likes of Gorbals, Govanhill, Bridgeton-Dal, and Partick.

Hi James, I stand to be corrected but I would have thought that there would not have been much moving to "the schemes" from Partick, its pretty much as it was, not like the other areas you talk of. Anyway, Springburn to Milton, I am your man ;D ;D ;D Bye for now, Norrie

Will keep the Springburn -Milton thing in mind Norrie.
Yes, up to a point Partick looks much thesame as it did half century past but I would think that more than a few of the early Drumchapel residents were Partick originated, perhaps the newer parts of Knightswood too.

I probabaly have been thinking of the demolitions that forced folk out to the Schemes, mind you our house in Huntershill st remained standing for a long time, so I guess we were over crowded, 4 of us in a single end. Bye for now, Norrie
